A company qualifies as an Exempted Micro Enterprise (see list below) until such time that the turnover exceeds R5 000 000, although some entities forming part of gazetted charters will have a lower turnover, See List

The DTI and SANAS jointly issued a Statement to the effect that all EME's with black shareholdings need to go through a verification. This is reflected in the prices charged due to the fact that these entities will undergo a site visit.

Below please find an indication of documents to be completed and required documents to be submitted back to us.

Sole Proprietor:

• Verification Request Entity Information Sheet to be completed accurately.

• Financial income statements confirming your annual turnover or 12 months bank statements, or Letter from Accounting Officer/Auditor must be provided. If entity is VAT registered, VAT 201's can be submitted.

• Attached EME Affidavit to be completed. This document must be signed by a commissioner of oath.

• Copy of ID Document of the owner.

• If there is black ownership within the entity an interview must be conducted.
  

Partnership:

• Verification Request Entity Information Sheet to be completed accurately.

• Financial income statements confirming your annual turnover or 12 months bank statements, or letter from Accounting Officer/Auditor must be provided. If entity is VAT registered, VAT 201's can be submitted.

• Attached EME Affidavit to be completed. This document must be signed by a commissioner of oath.

• Copy of ID Document of all the partners – please indicate race (African, White, Indian or Coloured).

Close Corporation:

• Verification Request Entity Information Sheet to be completed accurately.

• Financial income statements confirming your annual turnover, or Letter from Auditor.

• Attached EME Affidavit to be completed. This document must be signed by a commissioner of oath.

• Copy of ID Document of all the partners – please indicate race (African, White, Indian or Coloured).

• If shareholder/ shareholders are African, Indian or Coloured please submit Share certificates as proof confirming the black ownership or CM29 indicating directorship in the company.

• If there is black ownership within the entity an interview must be conducted.
